The Logan-Union-Champaign (LUC) Regional Planning Commission is accepting resumes for the position of Planner. LUC is a three-county regional planning commission with its office in East Liberty, OH 43319. (More information about LUC can be found at www.lucplanning.com.)
The Planner will assist the agency by preparing land use plans, maps, data, and studies; reviewing and making recommendations on subdivision plats, development plans, and zoning amendments; developing and updating local zoning regulations. Duties also include assisting and supporting local jurisdictions by answering questions and providing technical assistance; performing work related to LUC's Geographic Information System (GIS); and assisting the Director in the operation of the Regional Planning Commission.
Qualifications include Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred) in Planning, Geography, GIS, or a related field, or 5 years professional planning or development work experience; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Candidates must be able to operate a personal computer, computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, ESRI GIS, and other applicable computer software), printer, scanner, copy machine, calculator, other standard business office equipment, and a motor vehicle. (Must possess a valid Ohio’s driver’s license and maintain insurability.) The selected individual must also be capable of passing a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation.
The schedule of this position includes evening meetings, which the position must be able to attend. This is a county government position, eligible for a wide range of insurance benefits, paid leave programs (including holidays), and a pension package through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $40,000-62,000 and is commensurate with experience.
